Explore Bartlesville beyond the conference sessions. The Hilton Garden Inn's downtown location puts restaurants, historic architecture, Unity Square, The Center and the Bartlesville Heritage Trail within a compact central district, while Woolaroc, Pathfinder Parkway and the Osage Hills open up the wider landscape of northeast Oklahoma.

Please check current hours before you go. Several Bartlesville museums and independent restaurants close on Sundays and Mondays, and hours change seasonally. Visit Bartlesville (918-336-8709) has current details, maps and suggested itineraries.

Before you plan a landmark visit

Two of Bartlesville's best-known sites are not open on our conference days:

If you want to see them, build it into a Sunday arrival or a Wednesday departure, and call ahead either way.

The three landmarks

Price Tower

Frank Lloyd Wright's only realized skyscraper, completed in 1956 for the H.C. Price Company at 510 S. Dewey Ave. Nineteen storeys translating Wright's organic architecture into a vertical commercial building, and a case study in how a single signature building becomes part of a city's identity, tourism economy and preservation strategy.

The tower is currently undergoing rehabilitation, with plans reported for apartments, hotel rooms, museum space and a ground-floor restaurant. Interior tours are not running. Exterior architectural tours are advertised by reservation — confirm with Visit Bartlesville (918-336-8709) or The Center (918-337-2787).

Frank Phillips Home

The Neo-Classical residence of the founder of Phillips Petroleum, at 1107 Cherokee Ave., with largely intact interiors. It places Bartlesville's oil story at a domestic scale — the family, social and philanthropic context behind the company that shaped the city.

Guided tours run about an hour across all three floors. The normal season is March to December, Wednesday to Saturday. Admission is $10 adults, $8 seniors and veterans, $5 ages 4-12. Reservations on 918-336-2491. Visitor parking is west of the home at 11th Street and Osage Avenue. Ask about mobility access when booking, as the standard tour covers three floors.

Woolaroc Museum & Wildlife Preserve

Frank Phillips' 1925 ranch retreat, now roughly 3,700 acres in the Osage Hills combining a museum, historic lodge, wildlife preserve and trails. It sets the region's oil history inside its larger environmental and cultural landscape.

Hours after Labor Day are Wednesday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is $19 adults, $17 military and ages 65+, free for children 12 and under. Group rates are available for 20 or more with advance booking on 918-336-0307 ext. 116. The main entrance is wheelchair accessible with accessible parking, and wheelchairs are available free on arrival.

Adding a day? The Joseph H. Williams Tallgrass Prairie Preserve at Pawhuska is a globally significant prairie landscape with a scenic bison loop, and Osage Hills State Park offers hiking within easy reach. Both suit a half or full day beyond the conference.
