DESCRIPTION:How the City of Edmond Learned to Handle Massage Therapy (No\, not that kind). In May of 2026\, the Edmond City Council passed an ordinance that required all existing and new massage therapy businesses to acquire a specific use permit in order to operate. I have been the project lead within the Planning Department for the creation of this ordinance\, the follow through\, and the fall out of the public and elected officials realizing that land use is perhaps not the best way to combat human trafficking.\n\nSpeakers: Avery K Geist\n\nAICP CM credits: 1.25
